Using the data
- LicencePublished under CC BY 4.0. Copy, chart and republish it, commercially or not. Credit: “Source: Radar (useradar.com), from FAA registry data as of October 5, 2026”, with a link to the page the figure comes from.
- MethodCounted from the FAA Releasable Aircraft Database: the registration file joined to the aircraft and engine reference files, matched to model families. Airliners, former military jets, crop sprayers and experimental aircraft are left out. Full rules: the ownership report and the fleet census.
- PrivacyAggregates and company names only. No N-number, serial number, person’s name or city in any file. Counts of individually owned or co-owned aircraft under five show as “<5”. Records the FAA withholds count only in national totals.
- UpdatesRecounted from the newest FAA file each time the site is updated; the FAA file date is in every row. The monthly fleet report compares one stored file with the next (latest: September 2026).
Registered is not active: the register includes stored, for-sale and not-yet-delivered aircraft, so it runs higher than counts of the active fleet. The FAA registry itself is public US government data; Radar’s work is the model matching, the owner-type, trustee and registered-agent grouping and the privacy rules.
